Color My Life

Babies love color. Most seem to love the color pink [especially little girls} as a first option when beginning to perceive that color exists.Research seems to suggest that babies first view the world only in black and white and as visual acuity develops color becomes apparent in their world. How wondrous that must be. If only we could recall that moment in our lives.

In fashion the seasons ring in the chosen color for that particular collection, purple might be chosen for one season and black for another. Color also influences mood and certain colors are thought to uplift us, such as red or yellow. The more somber colors such as black may dampen our mood, just a a grey day may make us fell gloomy . More formal occasions may require more muted colors, such as black as the preferred color when in mourning, but this is also very subjective as in other cultures the color chosen when in mourning may be white.

When celebrating special occasions such as weddings, color is also culture specific. In some instances red is the chosen color for a wedding accompanied by beautiful gold jewelry to adorn the bride and in other instances white is the brides preferred color for her very special day. I think color and texture are very important elements when choosing what to wear A beautiful colorful scarf can cheer up any outfit on a dull winters day just as a multicolored umbrella adds a little cheer to a rainy day. I guess as the saying goes when it comes to color in fashion, Whatever Floats Your Boat
